Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy Effective Date: May 2026

I take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy clearly explains what information is collected when you visit the sipcalculatornp.com site. Here you will get a clear idea of how that information is used, who it may be shared with, and what choices you have from this site. I have written this in plain language because I believe you should be able to understand a privacy policy without needing a law degree, as my site aims to make it accessible for everyone in an easy way.

By using this website, you consent to the practices described below. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue your use of the website.

1. Who I Am

SIP Calculator NP is created and operated by me, Basanta Limbu, an independent web developer and financial analyst, Banker from Belbari, Morang, Nepal. I am the sole person responsible for this website, its content, its calculators, and the data practices described in this policy. There is no company behind this β€” just me.

2. What Information Is Collected

I want to be straightforward about this. I will break it down into three categories so there is no ambiguity.

2.1 Your Calculator Inputs β€” I Never See These

This is probably the most important thing on this page, so let me be clear: when you use any calculator on my website β€” the SIP Calculator, Lumpsum Calculator, SWP Calculator, RD Calculator, FD Calculator, or Retirement Planning Calculator β€” the numbers you type in are processed entirely inside your own web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your investment amounts, interest rates, tenure periods, monthly contributions, and all other inputs never leave your device. They are not sent to my server. They are not stored in any database. I have no way to see what numbers you entered or what results you received.

Your financial planning data stays on your device. That is by design, and I have no intention of changing it.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically When You Visit

Like virtually every website on the internet, my web server and analytics tools automatically collect certain technical information when you visit. This includes:

β€” Your IP address, which gives a general indication of your geographic location (city or region level, not your exact address)

β€” The type and version of your web browser β€” for example, Chrome 124, Safari 18, Firefox 128

β€” Your operating system β€” Windows 11, Android 15, iOS 18, macOS, etc.

β€” Whether you are on a desktop computer, a mobile phone, or a tablet

β€” Which pages on my website did you visit and in what order

β€” How long did you spend on each page

β€” The date and time of your visit

β€” The website or search engine that brought you here (the referral URL)

β€” Your screen resolution and browser language settings

I use this information to understand how people use my website β€” which calculators are most popular, which blog posts get the most readers, where visitors tend to drop off, and what devices I need to optimize for. This helps me make better decisions about what to build, fix, or improve next. I look at this data in aggregate form (total visits, average time on page, most popular pages) β€” I am not sitting here tracking individual people around my website.

2.3 Information You Send Me Voluntarily

If you choose to email me at classytechstudio@gmail.com β€” whether to report a bug, ask a question, suggest a feature, or for any other reason β€” I will receive and store the contents of your email. This includes your name (if you provide it), your email address, your subject line, and whatever you write in the body of the message.

I use this information only to respond to your inquiry. I do not add your email address to any mailing list, newsletter, or marketing campaign. I do not share your email with anyone else. If you want me to delete your correspondence at any point, just ask, and I will do it.

3. Cookies β€” What They Are and How I Use Them

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember certain information. My website uses cookies, and I want to explain exactly which ones and why.

3.1 Essential Cookies

These are the basic cookies that allow my website to function properly β€” things like loading pages correctly, remembering your session as you navigate between pages, and ensuring the WordPress content management system works as intended. Without these, the website may not display or function correctly. These cookies do not collect any personally identifiable information.

3.2 Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)

I use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors interact with my website. Google Analytics places cookies on your browser that collect information about your visit β€” the pages you view, how long you stay, what links you click, and general engagement patterns.

This data is sent to Google’s servers and processed into reports that I can review. These reports show me things like “450 people visited the SIP Calculator page this week” or “most visitors come from Kathmandu on mobile devices.” The information is presented in aggregate β€” I see trends and totals, not profiles of individual visitors.

Google Analytics may also collect broad demographic information β€” such as approximate age range and general interest categories β€” based on your overall browsing activity across the internet. This demographic data is shown to me only in aggregate summaries and cannot be traced back to any specific individual.

If you do not want Google Analytics to collect data about your visits, you have options. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which prevents the tracking script from sending data to Google. You can also adjust your browser’s cookie settings to block analytics cookies entirely.

For more details about how Google handles data, you can read Google’s Privacy Policy.

3.3 Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

My website may display ads through Google AdSense in the future, which will be the revenue needed to keep this platform free. Google AdSense places cookies on your browser to serve advertisements. Here is how it works in straightforward terms:

When you visit my website, Google may place one or more cookies on your device. These cookies allow Google and its advertising partners to build a profile of your interests based on the websites you have visited across the internet β€” not just mine. Google then uses this profile to show you ads that it thinks are relevant to you. This is called personalized or interest-based advertising.

As an example, if you have been browsing banking websites recently, you might see ads for financial products on my site. If you have been shopping for electronics, you might see ads for phones or laptops. The specific ads shown are determined by Google’s algorithms, not by me. I do not choose which ads appear on my pages.

You have control over this. You can manage your ad personalization preferences or opt out entirely by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party advertising cookies through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Opting out of personalized ads does not mean you will stop seeing ads on my website. It just means the ads you see will be generic rather than tailored to your browsing history.

3.4 How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser

Every major browser lets you control how cookies are handled. Here is where to find those settings:

β€” Google Chrome: Settings β†’ Privacy and Security β†’ Cookies and other site data

β€” Mozilla Firefox: Settings β†’ Privacy & Security β†’ Cookies and Site Data

β€” Safari (Mac/iPhone): Preferences β†’ Privacy β†’ Manage Website Data

β€” Microsoft Edge: Settings β†’ Cookies and site permissions β†’ Manage and delete cookies

β€” Samsung Internet: Settings β†’ Privacy and Security β†’ Accept cookies

Be aware that blocking all cookies may cause some features on my website β€” or on other websites you visit β€” not to work properly.

4. How I Use the Information

Here is a complete list of what I use collected information for:

β€” To keep the website running properly and to fix technical problems when they arise

β€” To understand which calculators and articles my visitors find most useful so that I can prioritize my development and writing time

β€” To analyze traffic patterns β€” where visitors come from, what devices they use, how they navigate the site β€” so I can optimize the user experience

β€” To respond to emails, bug reports, feature requests, and other messages sent to me

β€” To detect and prevent security threats, spam, or unauthorized access to the website

β€” To serve advertisements through Google AdSense, which funds the free operation of this platform

β€” To comply with any legal obligations under applicable Nepali law

I do not use your information for profiling, automated decision-making, targeted marketing campaigns, or any purpose beyond what I have described above.

5. Who I Share Information With

Let me be direct: I do not sell, rent, trade, or give away your personal information to anyone for any purpose. As I said earlier, my aim is just to share what I learned from my banking field and its core knowledge easily. So, that is not something I do, and it is not something I plan to start doing.

Information may be shared in these limited situations:

Google (Analytics and AdSense): As I explained above, Google Analytics receives data about how visitors use my website, and Google AdSense uses cookies to serve targeted advertisements. Both of these services are operated by Google LLC, and they are governed by Google’s own privacy policy. I rely on these tools to run and fund my website, and their data collection is described in detail in Section 3.

Web hosting provider: My website is hosted by a third-party hosting service, which means their servers process the requests when you load a page on my site. Hosting providers have access to server logs that include technical information like IP addresses and access timestamps. This is a standard part of how web hosting works.

Legal compliance: If I am ever required by Nepali law, regulation, court order, or government authority to disclose information, I would comply with that legal obligation. I cannot imagine a scenario where this would apply to a financial calculator website, but I want to be transparent that the legal possibility exists.

In the event of a transfer: If SIP Calculator NP were ever acquired by or merged with another entity β€” which I have no plans for, but life is unpredictable β€” any information collected through this website could be part of that transfer. If that ever happens, I would post a clear notice on the website letting users know.

6. How Long Information Is Kept

Google Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months, which is Google’s default retention period. After that, the data is automatically deleted from Google’s systems.

Server logs β€” which contain information like IP addresses and page access records β€” are retained for a limited period as determined by my web hosting provider’s standard practices.

If you email me, I keep your correspondence for as long as it takes to resolve your inquiry, plus a reasonable period afterward for my own records. If you would like me to delete your email correspondence, send me a message from Contact Page, and I will take care of it.

Calculator input data has no retention period because it is never collected in the first place. It lives in your browser, not on my server.

7. How I Protect Information

I take reasonable measures to keep this website and the information that passes through it secure. These measures include:

β€” HTTPS encryption (SSL/TLS) on every page of the website, which means the connection between your browser and my server is encrypted

β€” Regular updates to WordPress core, themes, and plugins to patch known security vulnerabilities

β€” Strong passwords and limited access to the website’s administrative backend

β€” Following established web security best practices

That said, I want to be honest: no website is 100% secure. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely immune to interception. I do my best to protect the data that flows through this website, but I cannot offer a guarantee of security. You use this website at your own risk in this regard.

8. Children’s Privacy

My website is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has contacted me and provided personal information β€” for example, by sending me an email β€” please let me know at classytechstudio@gmail.com, and I will delete that information promptly.

Young people between the ages of 13 and 16 may use this website with the awareness and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

9. Links to Other Websites

My website contains links to external websites β€” banks, asset management companies, NRB, SEBON, news outlets, and other resources. This privacy policy applies only to sipcalculatornp.com. Once you click on a link and leave my website, you are subject to the privacy practices of that external site, not mine.

10. Your Rights and Choices

I believe you should have control over your information. Here is what you can do:

Access: You can ask me what personal information, if any, I hold about you. In most cases, the answer will be “nothing” unless you have emailed me.

Correction: If I hold any information about you that is incorrect, you can ask me to fix it.

Deletion: You can ask me to delete any personal information I hold about you β€” such as email correspondence β€” and I will comply.

Opt out of analytics: You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or block analytics cookies in your browser settings.

Opt out of personalized ads: You can visit Google Ads Settings to turn off ad personalization.

To exercise any of these rights, email me at contact@sipcalculatornp.com. I will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

11. Visitors From Outside Nepal

This website is built for users in Nepal, but it is accessible worldwide. If you are visiting from outside Nepal, be aware that any data collected through this website may be processed on servers located in countries with different data protection laws than your own. By using this website, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data as described in this policy.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time β€” for example, if I start using a new analytics tool, if I change advertising networks, or if I need to reflect changes in applicable law. When I make meaningful updates, I will change the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.

I encourage you to revisit this page occasionally so you stay informed about how I handle information on this website. Your continued use of the website after any changes means you accept the updated policy.

13. Contact Me

If you have any questions about this privacy policy, want to exercise any of your rights, or just want to know more about how I handle data on this website, reach out to me:

Your privacy matters. I have built this website so that the most sensitive thing you do here β€” entering your financial numbers into a calculator β€” never leaves your device. That was a deliberate choice, and it reflects how I think about your data: if I do not need it, I do not collect it.
